Kijun Reorder Planner

Frequently asked questions

Answers to what Shopify merchants most often ask before installing Kijun Reorder Planner — what the app does, what data it uses, what you can export, and what happens to that data when you leave.

What does the app do?

Kijun Reorder Planner is a Shopify-embedded app that helps you decide what to reorder. It reads your products, variants, inventory, and recent sales, calculates how fast each item sells, and suggests a reorder quantity. The results are grouped into a supplier buy list you can review, adjust, save, and export.

It is read-only by design: it does not change your store and does not place orders for you. You stay in control of the final quantities.

What data does it use?

From Shopify, with read-only scopes, the app uses:

  • Products and inventory — products, variants, SKUs, the product vendor / supplier field, inventory quantities, and locations.
  • Recent order line items — line-item quantities and the products they reference, from a recent sales window, used only to calculate sales velocity.
  • Shop identity and session — shop domain, Shopify shop ID, shop name, plan, locale, shop-owner email, and an encrypted OAuth session token.

Inside the app it also stores the data you create: supplier settings, buy-list rows, and saved buy-list snapshots. Full breakdown lives in the privacy policy.

Does it read customer data?

No. The app does not read or store customer names, customer emails, customer phone numbers, customer addresses, or payment data. It reads order line-item quantities and product references only to work out how fast items sell — never the shopper's personal information.

Does it create Shopify purchase orders?

No. The app produces a buy list, not a native Shopify purchase order. It does not write back to Shopify and does not create or modify purchase orders. You take the exported buy list to your supplier and order through your own process.

Does it change inventory?

No. The app is read-only with respect to your store. It does not adjust inventory quantities, edit products, or change anything in Shopify.

What is a buy list?

A buy list is the list of items the app suggests you reorder, grouped by supplier. For each item it shows the suggested order quantity (which you can edit), and you can include or exclude items before exporting. It is a shopping list for your suppliers — not a Shopify purchase order.

What are supplier lead time and safety stock?

Lead time is how many days a supplier takes to deliver after you order; safety stock is the extra buffer of days' cover you want to keep on hand. You can set both per supplier, and the suggested order quantities update to account for them. Suppliers without a custom setting use the default lead time and safety stock.

What are saved buy lists?

When a buy list looks right, you can save it as a snapshot. A saved buy list is read-only — it preserves exactly what you reviewed (the same rows and the same CSV), so you can look back at what you ordered without it being recalculated.

What can I export?

You can export the buy list as a CSV (for spreadsheets) or a PDF (for printing or emailing yourself). Both are buy lists for your own ordering process — they are not Shopify purchase orders and contain no customer data.

How do CSV and PDF relate to the screen?

The CSV and PDF match what you see on screen. After you include / exclude items and edit order quantities, the export reflects those same adjustments — the on-screen buy list, the CSV, and the PDF are the same buy list. A saved buy list exports the frozen snapshot you saved.

How do CSV, PDF, saved buy lists, and export history relate?

They are four views of the same buy list, not four different lists:

  • CSV / PDF export exactly the buy list on screen — the CSV for spreadsheets, the PDF for printing or emailing yourself.
  • Saved buy lists freeze the reviewed list as a read-only snapshot so you can reopen it and re-export the identical CSV or PDF later — for example when you place the order.
  • Export history is simply a record of which CSV / PDF files you downloaded and when. It is not a send log — the app never emails your suppliers — and it contains no customer data.

What is All synced variants?

"All synced variants" is a reference table of every product variant the app pulled from your store during the last sync, with its sales and stock figures. It lets you check the underlying data behind the buy list, even for items that don't currently need reordering.

Why is my buy list empty?

An empty buy list is a normal result, not an error: it means every synced variant currently has enough stock to cover its supplier's lead time plus safety stock. It can also mean an item had few or no sales in the recent window, so there is nothing to reorder yet.

To dig in: open All synced variants to see stock, sales, and days of cover for every item; if a supplier really delivers slower than the default, raise its lead time in Supplier settings; and sync again after new sales to refresh the recommendations. If nothing synced at all, run Sync store data first.

Why is a supplier shown as “Unassigned supplier” (or missing)?

Suppliers come from the product vendor field in Shopify. If a product has no vendor set, its items are grouped under Unassigned supplier at the end of the buy list, so nothing is dropped. Set the vendor on the product in Shopify and it will move into the right supplier group on the next sync.

Does it work for large stores?

The current version syncs stores with up to 2,000 products and up to 3,000 orders in the recent sales window, with up to 100 variants per product and 100 line items per order.

If your store is above any of these limits, the sync stops and tells you exactly which limit was hit. The app never shows partial data: your recommendations are either complete or unchanged from the last successful sync.

If these limits block your store, tell us at support@kijun.app.

What happens to my data if I uninstall the app?

As soon as you uninstall from Shopify admin, Shopify delivers the app/uninstalled webhook. The app handles it immediately — the shop is marked inactive and access tokens are revoked within minutes.

Approximately 48 hours later, Shopify delivers the mandatory shop/redact webhook. At that point the app deletes all of your shop's records — synced product / variant data, supplier settings, buy-list rows, saved buy-list snapshots, and session tokens.

Encrypted backup volumes are rotated within 30 days, so the deleted data also disappears from backups inside that window. No manual action is required from you. The privacy policy covers the full retention and deletion timeline.

How do I contact support?

Email support@kijun.app. Response target is 48 business hours. Please include your shop domain (the *.myshopify.com URL) and a short description of what you're seeing — a screenshot helps when reporting a UI issue.
